MRSM Tun Ghafar Baba (3)

"TGB ni bumi tarbiah"

"Awak jangan nak fitnah mak ayah awak, dan sekolah lama awak. Kalau awak buat perangai tak elok, jangan salahkan saya kalau saya fitnah mak ayah awak"

"Form 4 tahun ni banyak masalah kan?"

Those are some of the things commonly said in my school. It's not enough having to do the same thing every single day. The same tedious routine. But you have to listen to the same thing over and over again. It's driving me crazy, really. Wait wait, the most important one. Our motto. We strive for infinite excellence. Believe me, the motto fits well with TGB.

Things that have occured for the past few weeks:

  • First exam there (!)

  • Got the results for the above event.

  • Night rollcall for 2 nights - girls only.

  • Inter-class drama, and managed to get to the finals.

  • Exhaustion.

  • Exhaustion.

  • Exhaustion.

Why I strongly dislike being there:

  • EXHAUSTION

  • Same tedious routine

  • Night rollcalls

  • The fact that my batch is a pain in the arse. Not all, of course. The one's who are giving us a bad name.

  • Genius people all around me.

  • No cute guys - okay, just kidding.

  • Having to fight for every single thing.

  • Homesick :(

  • Have to join 'kadet bomba' WHICH IS AN OUTRIGHT PAIN.

  • EXHAUSTION

Why I kind of like being there:

  • Bumi tarbiah

  • Has taught me a lot.

  • I feel like I'm doing less sins. Ha ha.

Whatever it is, I still feel thankful to be in TGB. It's not easy to be a student of the 'prestigious' but awfully old and ugly school.

Is it prestigious, now?

What's true about this school is that, in every single thing, they will strive for infinite excellence. They won overall for the Sukan Super Zon Selatan in MRSM Muar. The two 'contingents' that went for INEPO - Euroasia in Baku, Azerbaijan came back with a gold and silver medal.

I just took a look at their photos and they were wearing our maktab's batik. Honestly, I think the batik is ugly. And honestly, I'm wearing the batik as I type.

I've never even heard of INEPO. But still, who wouldn't be proud if their seniors won international competitions.

Next week the groups going for I-SWEEP in Texas are going. Then there's INEPO in Turkey. And something in Amsterdam and New York. And there's something going on in Slovakia as well. My classmate's going to carry a project to INEPO in Turkey.

And we're all highly jealous.

But, the best of luck Aimran Khalis!

Oh and the PKBM students - Persatuan Kadet Bersatu Malaysia - just came back from their one week camp earlier this evening. And they won overall as well. Seriously TGB, how greedy can you get?

Though being there makes me awfully stressed, (even the seniors say TGB stands for Tension Gila Babi), I'll survive.
